Origin of Football

In Victoria, Australia, Indigenous Australians played a game called Marn Grook. It is widely believed that Marn Grook had an influence on the development of Australian Rules Football.

Australian Rules is sometimes said to be the first form of football to be codified but — as was the case in all kinds of football at the time, there was no official body supporting the rules — and play varied from one club to another.
